New Superior General Elected!

With great joy and thankful hearts today we announce the outcome of the election of our new Superior General:

Sr. Monica Mary Ncube CPS

Sr. Monica Mary was born in Plumtree, Zimbabwe, in 1949. Since 2014 she has been the Provincial Superior of the North American Province (NAP). From 1978-1982 she trained as a nurse in America and worked in different mission stations in Zimbabwe, e.g. Regina Mundi, Empandeni, Brunapeg and St. Joseph. In 2005 she was transferred to Canada, and has attained Canadian citizenship.

We are grateful to God and to Sr. Monica Mary for her ‘yes’ to this great task as the 8th Superior General of the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood.

“Prayer was our only support and refuge within all these difficulties. Time and again I found new courage and new strength in prayer”. (Mother Paula Memoirs p.169)
In response to Sr. Monica Mary’s request for prayer support, the General Chapter suggests that every community in our congregation takes a time of prayer or adoration over the next month to pray for her and her new team to be elected in the coming days.

As we step into the Jubilee Year from December 2024 to 2025,

let us invite God the Holy Spirit to enable us to be real pilgrims of Hope

in our communities and among the people we serve.

Father in heaven,

may the faith you have given us

in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,

and the flame of charity enkindled

in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,

reawaken in us the blessed hope

for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us

into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.

May those seeds transform from within both humanity

and the whole cosmos

in the sure expectation

of a new heaven and a new earth,

when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,

your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee

reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,

a yearning for the treasures of heaven.

May that same grace spread

the joy and peace of our Redeemer

throughout the earth.

To you our God, eternally blessed,

be glory and praise for ever.

Amen (more…)
