Provincial Superiors' Meeting in Korea

group pic with lotusGreetings from Sangsam-li, Korea, where we are gathered for the 2016 Provincial/Regional Superiors’ Meeting. We have been blessed with beautiful spring weather and the hospitality of our Sisters.

We are deliberating on the theme, Leadership: Crossing the Human – Human Divide. This theme is challenging all of us to consciously acknowledge that we are members of the same body, the body of Christ         (1 Cor 12:12) and each member’s contribution to the life of the whole body is important.

We had an opportunity to visit a Buddhist Temple which was a very enriching experience for us, as we practically crossed the Human-Human Divide; in this case, crossing the religious divide. We felt united by our common belief in the higher power who is God himself. We had two meditations guided by a Buddhist Nun and we had a practical lesson of crafting a LOTUS Flower which is a very significant symbol in Buddhism: The LOTUS Flower grows and blossoms in dirty water but remains pure and never gets contaminated. This can be related to scripture, You are in the world but not of the world (John 17:16).
